Hi, I’m Birdie. Good to know you! The only childhood nickname that stuck, “Birdie” has become my very favorite familiar—darling, charming, and full of symbolism… To watch a bird drop precipitously from a rooftop and hit flight so effortlessly as it takes off without a doubt in the whole world can always turn me green with envy!

Now, onto “Taurist.” It’s pretty simple, really…I’m an indubitable Taurus and an eternal tourist! A Taurus woman is known to experience life fully and viscerally through her five senses and wants to be surrounded by those things that please her discerning sensibilities: the very best Egyptian cotton sheets, a fresh-picked bouquet of blush peonies, white truffle salt straight from Piedmont Italy, the sultry sounds of Nina Simone crooning on vinyl, and long uninterrupted visits to her favorite art galleries. When a Taurean travels, she wants all five senses engaged, rightly so. A Taurus tourist like myself also has an innate need to share/recommend/offer/tip-off/suggest to others based on what they have discovered to be the “best” anything.

Here, I’ll be sharing all my thoughts with you, of the traveling and non-traveling variety. Being a Taurist doesn’t mean you have to trot the globe 24/7- sometimes it’s just about playing tourist in your own city, neighborhood, life…or even curling up with a good book and a pet! Anything that I love, lust, want, or swear by, I’ll be sharing with all of you!
